He has over 30 years of experience across multiple facets of investments including fund raising for Alternative Strategies, Private Equity Investments and Exits, Venture Capital, Real Estate, Bank Turnarounds and Portfolio Management. Prior to joining Nippon Life India, he has worked with Centrum Alternatives where he was the Partner & Head – Business Development. In his last role, he has gained rich experience in driving multi-strategy Alternative Asset Management platform comprising Venture Capital, Private Debt, Public Equity, and Real Estate. He was also the CIO – Acorn Fund, , Managing Partner – Real Estate at Tata Capital Limited. Prior to this he was managing International Funds for over 8 years with organizations like Cambridge Place Investments Management , Ankar Capital Management & Antfactory.

He has done M.Com from University of Mumbai and an MBA from Duke University, USA. He is an active member of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), Mumbai Chapter and is also member of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).



Aashwin is a seasoned finance and sales professional with over 20 years of extensive experience in the Banking and Asset Management industry. His expertise spans both B2B and B2C segments of the Mutual Fund sector. Throughout his career, Aashwin has effectively managed institutional, retail, and banking/wealth portfolios. He spent a significant portion of his career, approximately 16 years, at Nippon Life India Asset Management Limited (formerly Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management Limited), where he played pivotal roles in managing the West and North India markets as Zonal Head. He also held various portfolios at the Corporate Office.

Aashwin's career journey includes significant roles at renowned institutions such as TATA AMC Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, and ING Investment Management Pvt Ltd. Notably, he served as Regional Vice President – North Zone at TATA AMC Ltd prior to joining Nippon India.

In his most recent position at Nippon Life India Asset Management Limited, Aashwin served as Co-Chief Business Officer, overseeing institutional and wealth/private banking business.



Has over 22 years of experience in Real Estate Investment Management, Corporate and Project Finance, Investment Banking & Project Management. He has been heading Nippon India Real Estate Investments since 2011 and is one of the key personnel behind setting up of the Real Estate investment function. He was also instrumental in setting up and anchoring Real Estate Private Equity business in his previous organization. Has well diversified experience over entire life cycle of Funds from inception to exits and strong broad-based relationship with developers and possesses rich experience in evaluating, investing and managing real estate projects on pan India basis.

He has done his Master’s in Business Management from Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T) Kharagpur and B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Warangal. Prior to joining Nippon Life India he has worked with ICICI Prudential, SBI Capital Markets, ING Vysya Bank, Shapoorji Pallonji Group & Gammon India.



Mr. Rahul Veera currently serves as the Fund Manager (Equity) at Nippon India AIF, boasting over 14 years of extensive experience encompassing Equity Research and Fund Management. He has previously worked with renowned organizations including Abakkus Asset Managers, Morgan Stanley, Edelweiss, and Elara Capital.

Mr. Veera holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from H.R College (Mumbai University), an MBA from Swansea University (UK), and an Executive Finance certification from the Indian Institute of Management (Calcutta).

His adeptness in research spans across diverse sectors such as consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and building materials. He has a proven track record of identifying profitable themes and stocks, yielding substantial returns. Mr. Veera's tenure across various firms has equipped him with a plethora of transferable skills and provided ample opportunities to excel in portfolio management and investment analysis.



Sachin Bid is currently Fund Manager, Venture Capital at Nippon India Alternative Investments. He is responsible for fund raising, investing and managing portfolio of India centric early-stage technology venture funds. He currently serves on the advisory boards (LPAC) of multiple venture funds. Prior to Nippon India, he co-founded, built and scaled an travel start-up focused on cruising, MyDreamHoliday, which was acquired by a market leader in the space.

Prior to that, he was an investor with Ncubate Capital, a family office where he participated in incubating and supporting scale-up of consumer companies which grew from zero base to double digit monthly revenues ($ in mn) and these companies were subsequently backed by marquee private equity funds. Prior to Ncubate, he was an investor at Nine Rivers Capital investing from its Fund-I in early growth stage companies, primarily in manufacturing and engineering companies. He is a CAIA member, CFA (ICFAI) and MBA – Finance, IBS Mumbai.



Mr. Ashish Jalan is currently Co-Fund Manager and Head – Credit for the Private Credit practice at Nippon India Alternative Investments. He is responsible for transaction evaluation, deal structuring, investing, fund raising and managing the portfolio. He has deep experience in domestic credit markets with almost 15 years of experience across asset management, bank and rating agency.

Before setting up the credit AIF practice, Ashish was part of Fixed Income Investment team at Nippon India Mutual Fund for almost 9 years. Prior to joining Nippon India, he has also worked with DBS Bank, ICRA Ltd. and Global Analytics. Ashish is a Chartered Accountant and PGDM (Finance) from SPJIMR, Mumbai and an alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.



Mr. Rahul Apte is currently the Co-Fund Manager of the Private Credit practice at Nippon India Alternative Investments. He has deep expertise of +16 years in wholesale debt businesses and is adept in all aspects of the deal life cycle management including deal sourcing, client development, credit assessment and monitoring and managing exits.

Prior to joining Nippon India, he was among the founding members of the Project & Structured finance business at Aditya Birla Finance and played a prominent role in scaling up the AUM to over 2 billion US dollars. He then led the NBFC’s foray into the Emerging Clients segment as a Business Head. Rahul is a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras and MBA in Finance & Marketing from Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.
